As Xiaomi prepares to launch the 12 Pro smartphone, rumors about the Xiaomi 12 Lite have also started to surface online. Tipster Yogesh Brar has leaked some of the main specs of the Lite variant. The leak suggests the handset will arrive with a Snapdragon chip, curved display, triple rear camera setup, 67W fast charging, and more. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Lite.
Is the Xiaomi 12 Lite coming to India?
The Xiaomi 12 Lite is not expected to launch in India anytime soon if we go by what happened last year. In 2021, the company first unveiled three Mi 11 series phones in April. These are the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11X and Mi 11X Pro. Later in June, the Mi 11 Lite was also announced, which was the fourth device in the lineup. The same can happen this year too. The company is teasing the launch of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which will likely debut in India in the coming weeks. Xiaomi may make an announcement on this later today.
Tipster Yogesh Brar claims that the Xiaomi 12 Pro will come with a starting price of Rs 65,000 in India. At the same price, the OnePlus 10 Pro was also launched a few weeks ago. The quoted source also claims that we will also see the launch of cheaper models such as the Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12X Pro. As of now, there is no official information on when they will launch in India, but we should get more details on that in the coming days.
Xiaomi 12 Lite: design and specs (leak)
Renders so far have suggested that the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Lite will have a curved display, which is something you typically get with ultra-premium phones. It could offer a centered punch-hole display design and pack a triple rear camera setup. The device will have virtually no bezels. It might be for sale in a gray color.
The rumor suggests that the Xiaomi 12 Lite could sport a typical 6.5-inch screen that will run in Full HD+ resolution. The panel will support a 120Hz refresh rate, up from the 90Hz display you get on the Mi 11 Lite. The new might come with a 4,500mAh battery under the hood and Xiaomi might support 67W fast charging. For your reference, the Mi 11 Lite has a smaller 4,250mAh battery supporting supports a load of only 33 W.
It would use the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, which also powers the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G. The Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite is also expected to come with a triple rear camera setup, including a 64-megapixel main camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel macro camera. On the front, we could see a 16-megapixel sensor.
