SKKU (Chairman Dong-Ryeol Shin) announced that JOB FAIR using metaverse will be held twice in 3.7(Monday)~8(Tuesday), 3.14(Monday)~15(Tuesday) this year, following the last second half of the year.
SKKU organizes JOB FAIR every year to provide students with useful employment information such as corporate obligations and recruitment. It also offers companies the first chance to get both promotion and senior ranks. This year, about 60 companies, including leading global companies in domestic and foreign fields, and potential technology companies are to participate.
The metaverse platform, Gather Town, was used last year, but this year it will be held through the metaverse platform, ZEP, and the fair is expected to have more student participation since mobile access is also available (unlike last year, only available on PC).
The JOB FAIR venue will be embodied virtually in the ZEP metaverse platform, allowing students to enter the virtual school fair venue to listen to the job fair or advise recruiters. Students can also exchange information with each other by chatting.
In addition, participants can check the counseling service (recruiter information) in advance through the CareerTalk online counseling platform. Additionally, consultations within the company booth will be conducted separately, categorized by department to execute appropriate counseling for each student’s major/academic record.
This JOB FAIR will be held in 8 universities (Sungkyunkwan Uni., Kyunghee Uni, Korea Uni., Sogang Uni., Seoul National Uni., Yonsei Uni., Chungang Uni., Hanyang Uni.) united, centered on SKKU.
On the other side, SKKU is pursuing various programs using the metaverse, including this JOB FAIR. The Sungkyun Korean Writing Contest was successfully completed. SKKU has also signed a contract with NAVER regarding the creation of an integrated AI-based academic information platform through the metaverse. This year, a mentoring system was organized in the metaverse for freshmen, and various classes also frequently used the metaverse platform in different ways.
