Prime Minister Modi gives keynote address and describes India’s technological innovation


Prime Minister Modi on November 18, 2021, delivered a keynote address at Sydney’s Dialogue. Prime Minister Modi spoke on the topic of India’s technological development and revolution, the speech being preceded by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. The Sydney Dialogue will see a keynote address by former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Australian Prime Minister in his speech noted that Australia-India actions and relations will develop even more over time. He added that the two countries have made great strides in many areas, including science, space and digital technology. It is an honor for Australia that Prime Minister Modi addresses the Sydney Dialogue.

PM Modi’s speech at the Sydney Dialogue: Highlights

Prime Minister Modi, speaking at the Sydney Dialogue, said that we are in a period of change that occurs once in an era. The digital age has changed everything around us and it has redefined economics, politics and society. The digital age also raises new questions about governance, sovereignty, law, ethics, rights and security.

While speaking more about the digital age, the PM added that the digital age is also responsible for reshaping international competition, power and friendships and ushered in a new era of opportunities for progress and prosperity. .

Also noting the drawbacks of the digital age, Prime Minister Modi stressed that the world is facing new risks and new forms of conflict through the various threats, from the seabed to cyberspace to outer space.

Viewing India as a democratic and digital leader, Prime Minister Modi said the country is ready to work with partners for shared security and prosperity. The digital revolution in India is rooted in our democracy, our demographics and the scale of our economy. The revolution is fueled by the innovation and entrepreneurship of Indian youth.

India is going through 5 important transitions: PM Modi at the Sydney Dialogue

1. India is building the world’s most extensive public information infrastructure and is on the way to connecting 6,000,000 villages. The country has also used the technology to deliver more than 1.1 billion doses of vaccines using Aarogya Setu and Cowin.

2. India has transformed people’s lives by using digital technology for governance, including connectivity, empowerment, social support and benefits.

3. India now has the third fastest growing startup ecosystem in the world.

4. India’s industries and service sectors have undergone massive digital transformation using technology to convert resources and protect biodiversity.

5. A bigger effort is underway to prepare India for the future as the country has invested in the development of local capacities in telecommunications technologies such as 5G and 6G. India is one of the leading countries in artificial intelligence.

Sydney’s Dialogue

The Sydney Dialogue is scheduled to take place from November 17-19, 2021. The Dialogue is an initiative of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute that will bring together political, business and government leaders on one platform.

Leaders at the Sydney Dialogue will debate, generate new ideas and work towards a common understanding of the opportunities and challenges posed by emerging and critical technologies.
