Aligarh: “Book knowledge is not enough to get up or find a suitable job in industry. Students should strive to acquire skills according to industry needs,” remarked Mr. Rajesh Singh, Branch Manager, Sofcon India Pvt. ltd. Noida, while addressing a one-day online workshop on Advanced Industry Control organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU ).

Mr. Singh pointed out that the industry also needs to be automated as per the requirement; and for this, different types of control systems such as PLC, SCADA, HMI and IACS are in vogue, although more research and advancement in all fields of engineering is the need of the hour.

He further stated that there are many job opportunities for students in different engineering fields, for which students need to put extra effort.

He advised students to learn programmable language and get specialized training.

During the workshop, a team from Sofcon India Pvt. Ltd provided hands-on PLC and SCADA online training.

Previously, Prof. M. Muzammil, Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering gave the welcome speech and Mr. Mohammad Nasir Khan introduced the resource persons.

Professor Mohammad Ali asked the team of experts to organize an offline training program also for the students.
