ALIGARH February 16: The Aligarh Muslim University Distance and Online Learning Center held a webinar on “Online Tools and Applications for Effective Teaching and Research” to provide an orientation opportunity to its faculty members in the context of new developments in teaching procedures, following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Professor (Dr) Ahrar Husain, Former Director, CDOL, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi engaged the undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and faculty members from various departments of studies.
Professor Husain pointed out that with the rapid growth in the number of online courses offered by universities and massive open online programs (MOOCs), there is a tremendous growth in interest in online education, especially in the post-Covid-19 world.
While laying out guiding principles for results-based online teaching, he urged educators to focus on encouraging student-teacher contact, collaborative learning, feedback, homework and technology applications.
Professor Mohd Nafees Ahmad Ansari (Director of the Center for Distance and Online Education) welcomed the guest speaker and highlighted the importance of new tools and applications used in teaching and research.
