Aligarh: Faculty members, students and industry professionals have enrolled in the College’s Department of Mechanical Engineering for a week-long online course on “Electric Vehicle Technology for Sustainable Mobility” (EVTSM) of Engineering and Technology Zakir Husain (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to understand the importance of integrating electric vehicles into the car fleet which will benefit the environment with reduced air pollution air. The course will end on February 5.

Chairing the inaugural session, guest of honour, Professor Pervez Mustajab (Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology) emphasized the need for expertise in electric vehicles.

He also discussed the opportunities, challenges and job prospects related to the field of electric vehicle technology.

The electric vehicle is the need of the hour and young engineers must meet the challenges in this emerging field to have a bright future in electrified transport, he underlined.

Prof. M. M. Sufyan Beg (Principal, ZHCET) talked about the trends and developments in the electric vehicle industry and why the global electric vehicle industry is expected to grow.

He then talked about the bachelor’s and master’s programs in automotive engineering, artificial intelligence, robotics and automation at AMU.

Prof. M Muzammil (Chairman of Department of Mechanical Engineering) spoke about the importance of electric vehicles in India.

“This is a new, attractive and challenging area of ​​research as there is a strong and growing penetration of electric vehicles around the world,” he said.

Dr. Sanaur Rehman led the program and Dr. Abdullah Y Usmani extended the vote of thanks.

Mr. Nafees Ahmad delivered the welcome speech.
