OnePlus 9RT finally gets a stable Android 12 OS update in India

The OnePlus 9RT has finally started receiving the stable OxygenOS 12 update, based on the Android 12 operating system. While Google is expected to release Android 13 in the coming months, OnePlus 9RT smartphone users are still running the Android 11 version. The new Android 12 update is around 4.7 GB in size which is quite large. If you haven’t received the notification for this update yet, you can check it manually in Settings > Software.

The latest update optimizes desktop icons with improved textures. We will now also see a new Quick Launch feature that will allow anyone to detect the apps you use frequently and preload them so you can open them quickly.

There will also be a new graph to display your battery usage. The company has also optimized the auto-brightness algorithm to adapt the screen brightness to more scenes for a comfortable screen reading experience. Dark Mode gets three adjustable levels for a more personalized experience.

The shelf has received new styling options for cards, which will make data content more visual and easier to read. There is also a new headphone control board with one-click setting of Bluetooth headphones. Users will also be able to access OnePlus Scout in Shelf, which will allow users to search multiple contents on their phone, such as apps, settings, media data, etc. We will also see a OnePlus Watch Card in the shelf, to allow you to see your health status.

There’s also a new Work Life Balance feature, allowing you to switch between work mode and life mode via quick settings. The Gallery app gets new support for switching between different layouts with a two-finger pinch gesture. The company claims that the app can now “intelligently recognize the best quality images and crop the thumbnail according to the content, making the gallery presentation more enjoyable.”

In the Canvas AOD section, you will also see new line styles and colors for a more personalized lock screen experience. There are some new brushes, strokes as well as support for color adjustment.

The update will also optimize the gaming experience and a new HyperBoost end-to-end frame rate stabilization feature. The changelog says the update also improves the display of camera modes in the menu bar and the zoom in or out experience when shooting videos with the rear camera.
