Nothing Phone (1) is getting closer to its launch in India

Nothing’s first smartphone, interestingly called Phone(1), is coming soon, the Carl Pei-led company announced some time ago. Although an exact date is unclear, the company has hinted at several hints that the Nothing Phone (1) will arrive in India around the same time as its international launch. A new leak has now confirmed that the Nothing Phone (1) will soon be heading to India.

According to tipster Mukul Sharma, the Nothing Phone (1) is already in the testing phase in India. This is a clear indication that the Nothing Phone (1) is coming to India soon. But to further back up his claim, Sharma shared what looks like a screenshot of a Nothing device listing on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. The screenshot shows Nothing A063 as a model which Sharma says belongs to the upcoming Nothing Phone (1). Sharma also said that batch production of the Nothing Phone (1) has started in several Eurasian countries, but he did not mention which countries.

The listing on the BIS, however, says nothing about the phone. It’s not like we don’t know what the Nothing Phone (1) will look like, but the details mentioned in an official listing, like the one on the BIS website, back up the specs. For now, let’s talk about what the rumors suggest.

The Nothing Phone (1) is expected to feature a 6.43-inch FullHD AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It is unclear, however, whether it would be a flat screen or the one with curved edges. The Nothing Phone (1) is likely to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset with a single memory configuration of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Nothing Phone (1) is likely to use a 4,500mAh battery, but details on whether or not there will be fast charging and wireless charging are unclear. The Nothing Phone’s (1) cameras are likely to include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor. Up front, the Nothing Phone (1) is likely to come with a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The phone is also likely to come with Android 12 software with Nothing OS on top.

Nothing Phone (1) launch date

While nothing is clear, Carl Pei, founder of Nothing, hinted at a specific date when responding to one of his Twitter followers. He tweeted “6/9 at 4:20” in response to the user’s question about the Nothing Phone launch details (1). If that’s the launch date, the Nothing Phone (1) could arrive on June 9th.
