Global cloud-focused and data-centric software company, NetApp, has announced that it will strengthen its focus on India by allowing its Indian entity to conduct business locally and directly with its dynamic customer base in India through its strong network of partners. This will ensure that NetApp customers can enjoy the benefits of the latest NetApp technologies without incurring import costs, while integrating the pay-as-you-go model that comes with NetApp Keystone. NetApp Keystone is a program that delivers a seamless hybrid cloud experience with lower upfront investments. This allows NetApp customers to free up cash and increase financial flexibility through the right mix of payment, subscription, and usage-based services.

“NetApp has grown in India thanks to our hybrid multi-cloud outlook and our position as a trusted partner for our customers. We achieved double-digit percentage growth, year-over-year, in the All-Flash Array (AFA)[1] market segment in India, according to IDC Worldwide Quarterly Enterprise Storage Systems Tracker, Q2 2021 (September 2021 release). This performance lifted NetApp’s position from third to first, quarter-over-quarter, in the local AFA segment, with a 30.1% market share in vendor revenue. Whether it’s AFA, the cornerstone of modern storage, or partnering with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, we’re uniquely positioned to deliver on our customers’ vision of a future driven by the cloud,” said Puneet Gupta, vice president. and Managing Director, NetApp India and SAARC.

NetApp has been present in India since the year 2000, for more than 20 years now. In 2003, the company started its R&D operations in Bangalore, India. Taking its commitment to the country several notches higher, in 2017, NetApp inaugurated its wholly-owned 15-acre campus in Bengaluru, built at a cost of INR 1,000 crore. “Our R&D center in India produces world-class products to serve the global market and contributes significantly to NetApp’s innovation engine. With more than 500 registered patents, it holds a significant share of our global innovation output. Gupta said.

In 2018, continuing its promise to drive innovation in the Indian ecosystem, the company launched NetApp Excellerator, the first-ever startup accelerator program focused on data-driven startups globally. Since then, over 50 startups have graduated through this India-based global program and it continues to operate successfully with its 9th cohort.

A leader in storage systems and software and an innovator in cloud services, NetApp’s Public Cloud segment revenue grew 155% year-over-year in Q1’22. Only NetApp offers the full range of capabilities customers need to build and manage their unique data structure to solve the financial, operational, and technical barriers to adopting hybrid multicloud environments.

“In today’s environment, the cloud is the benchmark for customer experience. The solutions we’re showcasing today are an extension of that philosophy – what Data Fabric has done to simplify and integrate data infrastructure; our new flexible consumption models do it at the enterprise level. With this new entity in place and with NetApp Keystone, we will now be able to deliver greater benefits to our customers than ever before. Our partners will continue to help us on our journey to customer success with new programs that will also be rolling out soon. summarizes Gupta.
