Interactive session held – India Education | Latest Education News | World Education News




ALIGARH: Prominent geoscientists and national geoscience laureates discussed various “career prospects in geology and the way to get there” during an interactive session organized by the Department of Geology at the Muslim University of Aligarh. They shared their experiences and discussed career opportunities in research and industry and highlighted key points related to quality research and development (R&D) proposals and government start-up programs. They also visited the department’s new XRF laboratory.

The Chairman of the Department, Prof. Kr Farahim Khan, informed that the eminent geoscientists who participated in the interaction included Prof. NC Pant (National Geoscience Awardee 1996, University of Delhi), Prof. Santosh Kumar (National Geoscience Awardee 2019, Kumaun University), Prof. PP Chakraborty (National Geoscience Awardee 2003, University of Delhi), Prof. NJ Raju (National Geoscience Awardee 2018, Jawaharlal Nehru University), Dr. Prahlad Ram (SERB, DST, Govt of India), Dr. SP Pradhan ( Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee), Dr Yusuf Khandey (Geological Survey of India, Government of India) and Dr Shamim A Dar (Banaras Hindu University).

Professor MEA Mondal introduced the dignitaries and led the session which was attended by researchers and postgraduate students. Professor Rashid Umar offered a vote of thanks
