ALIGARH: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, ZH College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University organized a five-day online Faculty and Leadership Development Program (FDEP) on “Emerging Trends in mechanical Engineering”.
Welcoming the guest speakers, Dr. Farhan Ahmad Shamim, one of the three program coordinators, outlined the key objectives of the FDEP and elaborated on the various contours of the program theme.
Dr. Mohd Shaaban Hussain said that 9 guest speakers gave presentations on various aspects of the topic while more than 100 participants attended the FDEP from all over the world including Dhofar University (Oman), University of United Arab Emirates (UAE), University of Malaya (Malaysia), University Technology Petronas (Malaysia), Jamia Millia Islamia, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Birla Institute of Technology-Sindri, Aliah University (Kolkata) and GB Pant Engineering College (New Delhi).
Dr Danish Iqbal said invited lectures and discussions included “Current Trends and Future Prospects in Advanced Machining Processes” by Dr Tarlochan Singh from IIT Bombay; “Finite Element Analysis in Solid Mechanics” by Dr. Mehnaz Rasool of Islamic University of Science and Technology, J&K; “Fundamentals and Applications of Enriched Computing Techniques” by Dr. Azher Jameel of IUST; “Magnetorheological Finishing” by Dr. Dilshad Ahmad Khan of NIT Hamirpur; “Capillary Flows” by Dr. Manjinder Singh of NIT Jaipur; “Corrosion of Metal Orthopedic Implants” by Dr. Sumanta Mukherjee of BIT Sindri; “Role of Renewable Energy in Buildings” by Dr Tabish Alam from CSIR-CBRI, Roorkee and lectures by Dr Julfekar Arab from IIT Bombay and Dr Aswani Kumar Bandaru, Marie Curie Fellow, Ireland.
Prof. Pervez Mustajab (Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology), Prof. M. M. Sufyan Beg (Principal, ZH College of Engineering and Technology) and Prof. M Muzammil (Chair, Department of Mechanical Engineering) were present during the program.
