The company launched the flagship iPhone 14 at an event earlier this month
NEW DELHI (Reuters) – Apple Inc (AAPL.O) said on Monday it will manufacture its latest iPhone 14 in India, as the tech giant moves some of its production out of China.
The company launched the flagship iPhone 14 at an event earlier this month, where it focused on security upgrades rather than flashy new tech specs, except for a new watch focused on adventure.
“The new iPhone 14 lineup introduces groundbreaking new technologies and important security capabilities. We are excited to manufacture iPhone 14 in India,” Apple said in a statement.
JPMorgan analysts expect Apple to shift around 5% of late 2022 iPhone 14 production to India, which is the world’s second-largest smartphone market after China.
Apple could manufacture one in four iPhones in India by 2025, analysts said in a note last week.
