Amazon could launch computer program in India


Amazon will soon launch its computer science education program in India. The e-commerce company had launched its Future Engineer program in the United States and now this program could be launched for Indian students, according to reports. The program had served 550,000 students in the United States.

According to TechCrunch, Amazon had hinted at launching the Amazon Future Engineer program in India in a recruiting position. The company said the process to bring computer education to India was currently “underway.” “Amazon India’s Corporate Social Responsibility team is looking for a passionate, impact-driven person to help them launch Amazon Future Engineer in India. This is a full-time contractual position for a minimum period of 12 months, ”said the job offer.

Explaining the Amazon Future Engineer program, the company said, “Amazon Future Engineer (www.amazonfutureengineer.com) is a childhood-to-career program aimed at empowering underprivileged and disadvantaged communities to access computer education from high quality. Globally, we support young students with coding courses and camps, high school students with full computer science courses, and post-high schools with scholarships and internships. We are looking for a leader to support the launch and management of the Amazon Future Engineer program in India. This position is currently a contractual position with a duration of 12 months.

Amazon mentioned in its blog that the search for Amazon Future Engineer in India is currently underway.

For the uninitiated, Amazon had launched the Future Engineer Program in the United States. The company had trained more than 550,000 students. “Amazon Future Engineer has more than doubled its reach, adding more than 3,000 schools to its program and serving more than 5,000 schools and 550,000 needy students with computer science courses across the United States,” said Amazon in a statement.

The Amazon Future Engineer program is offered to people of different age groups in the United States. As per the FAQ page, students, teachers, school administrators, and parents / guardians can apply for various stages of the Amazon Future Engineer program. The company has invested $ 50 million and donated over $ 20 million to organizations that promote computer science / STEM education across the country.
